SUMMER CAMPS are happening now and throughout the summer.  We have something for everyone so please browse through all of your choices. These are offered on a first come first serve basis, register soon so you don’t miss out!

Spokane Summer String Academy July 6-10 (all ages with experience on your instrument and able to read its notation) Enhance your performance skills in a small group setting.  Fiddle clinic, jazz improvisation, music theory and history, rehearsals, coaching, performances.  $199

Tom Kelly’s Cosmic Soup Improvisational Camp July 13-17 (Middle School and up)  Learn to follow your instincts and develop your innate musical sense through improvisation.  Learn to obliterate inhibition and self doubt.  Connect with your personal creativity to play jazz freely.  For instrumentalists and vocalists.  $199

Singers Performance Week July 20-24 (young adults-adults) Develop and refine performing skills for musical theater, opera, recital, and crossover styles.  Acting for singers, stage mechanics, introduction to stage combat, improvisation, audition techniques, voice strategies for the non-classical performer.  $230

Guitar Camp July 27-31 (all ages) Five full days of incredible bliss for any advancing guitarist. Rock, jazz, blues, fingerstyle and classical are all taught this year in clinic seminars by masters in each category. Students are allowed to bring either acoustic or electric guitars (with small battery amplifiers only), or simply observe and take notes. The afternoon sessions will be geared to teenage musicians, but any age will be welcome. The evening sessions (Tuesday through Friday) are the heavy-hitting gloves-off sessions with as much information as you can assimilate. Adults with usual daytime work hours will be able to attend! Video and audio taping are allowed for all sessions and the concert, for personal use only, with the cameras on tripods at the back or sides of the auditorium (media can be changed at the hour intermission break). Young Voices Sing August 3-5 (ages 8-13) Learn basic singing technique and voice care. Build confidence and know how.  $60

Cello Camp August 24-26 (all ages) How do ten cellos sound together? Simply, grand! Experience the wonderful literature for cello ensemble as you develop your performance skills.  $120

Congratulations Jessica, Michaela, and Nicole
Jessica Sund (9) and Michaela Sund (10), and Nicole Brown (10), all Suzuki pupils of Elizabeth Lund, successfully auditioned for and were accepted into the Intermediate String Orchestra of the Spokane Youth Symphony. Congratulations, girls!

Kajsa McCann Receives Youth Symphony Awards
Kajsa McCann is advancing from the Junior Symphonic Orchestra to the Spokane Youth Orchestra. Kajsa also received the Conductor’s Choice Award from the JSO and an Exceptional Commitment Award by Julian Gomez-Giraldo.

Charles Du to attend Princeton
Charles Du – Graduate of North Central High School and jazz piano pupil of Tom Kelly, is going to attend Princeton University to study economics. Way to go, Charles!
