Studies with Dorothy Bjarnason in Seattle. Bachelor's Degree from Eastman School of Music; studied with Bonita Boyd. Graduate work in flute performance at Boston University; studied with Leone Buyse of Boston Symphony. Performances with Zephyr, Music at Emmanuel Series, Holy Names Music Center's Annual Scholarship Benefit Concert at the Met, and Holy Names Music Center's Faculty Recital Series. Principal flutist with Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra in 2001. Principal flutist of Spokane Symphony since 1990. Featured soloist with Spokane Symphony. Ed Gavras - Clarinet, Flute, Jazz Saxophone
Studies at Spokane Falls Community College, Prairie Bible College, and Centrum's Bud Shank Jazz Workshop; studied in composition and arranging with Bob Curnow. Winner of Outstanding Musicianship Award from International Association of Jazz Educators at Pacific Coast Collegiate Jazz Festival in 1992. Teaching experience: Prairie Bible College, Northwest Christian Middle School, and privately for 10 years. Performances on Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, as well as in jazz and church related groups. Part time music director at Life Center North Church.
