NHO Testimonial
Polly McMahon, a member of New Horizons Orchestra, shares her experience. "NHO is the best thing that has happened to our area since indoor plumbing, sliced bread, and bottled water! Playing in an orchestra takes my mind away from the day. I am totally focused on just hitting the right note at the right time with just the mood I desire. I come home a kinder gentler person. Returning to music after many decades away grows my neural dendrites that were left smouldering. Some say this can prevent the onset or reduce the severity of dementia. All I know is that it makes my mind work in a different way. We laugh and care for each other. Beginners are welcome. We have people who do not read music but they learn to play. At times we sound like a sick bull elephant in gastric distress, but somehow it all works out and eventually we make music. This is the best entertainment and intellectual stimulation ever!"
