Assets of Holy Names Music Center

Students at Holy Names Music Center are fortunate to have many assets at their disposal. Some of the benefits of studying at the Music Center include:

Faculty
Our superb Faculty allows students to select from different musical styles and techniques. Several Artist Instructors noted for their performance abilities are on staff and often teach our more advanced students.

Suzuki Method
The Suzuki Method of instruction is taught by faculty trained in this particular discipline. The Center provides Suzuki instruction for piano and most strings. The cost for private instruction in this method is the same as regular instruction.

Scholarships
HNMC offers partial Scholarships to approximately 50 students each year. These awards reduce the direct out-of-pocket cost to families whose economic condition might prohibit music study.

Chamber Music Apprenticeships
The Honors Chamber Music Apprenticeships provide advanced students the opportunity to explore chamber ensemble performance. This program is fully funded and offered at no cost to qualifying students. Their only responsibility is to take part in several performances throughout the year.

Performance and recital hall
The Music Center has an excellent, acoustically sound performance venue in McNally Recital Hall. This facility is available for both faculty and student use. Both student and faculty recitals are held frequently, and the hall is also used for other area musical groups.

Talent Grants
Four Talent Grants are awarded annually based on achievement, talent and promise. These monetary awards are given in the spring for use during the following school year.

Relationships
Interaction between Teachers and Students is similar to that experienced in a conservatory.

Support staff
A Centralized Administration frees teachers from the burden of billing and registration and allows them to focus their attention on their students. The administration engages in fund raising and public awareness activities in order to keep the costs down and provide numerous amenities not covered by tuition payments.

Clear communication about events
Competitions, Concerts and Music Camp Notices are posted on the Center's bulletin board to keep students informed about what is going on locally, nationally and worldwide.

Library
HNMC's Music Library is a tremendous asset and is one of the most complete non-collegiate libraries of music research and performance materials in Spokane.

Setting
The setting of Holy Names Music Center on the beautiful and serene Mukogawa campus is an ideal place for study, performance and reflection.
