The Spokane Youth Music Consortium is devoted to helping young people succeed. These groups provide great educational experiences for students and young musicians, including coordinating a volunteer program for the public schools. Music Support Team: Helping teachers help students! The SYMC's Music Support Team connects volunteers with public school music programs, offering any help the teachers need, from taking attendance to tuning instruments. Why is the Music Support Team important? The Spokane area schools have been a leader in music education for over a century; now many beginning instrument classes have grown so much that the teachers need support in the classroom. This is an exciting time for music education in Spokane—by helping teachers, we help students. With a little extra assistance in the classroom, teachers can further focus their efforts, maximizing the educational benefits of a limited amount of class time. How Can You Help?
