Tuition Payment Plans Explained
Monthly Tuition payments are calculated to evenly divide the cost of the 36 weeks of instruction during our instructional year. This plan takes into consideration two weeks off in December and one week off in April. A student may actually have 5 lessons during October, November, January, March or May, depending upon which day of the week lessons are taken, but still only pays the usual tuition fee. Over the nine months, September though May, the student pays for 36 weekly lessons. Note: The tuition fee for December is the same as every other month, regardless of the number of lessons taken. Please review the Registration and Enrollment Guidelines/Tuition Payment Plans sections in the HNMC catalog. The tuition payments are calculated evenly to provide students and their families an easy and consistent payment amount during the year.
When a student begins lessons after the first week of the Instruction Year, the late start is taken into consideration and tuition payments are set up evenly with any difference made up on the first payment due.
If a student misses or cancels a lesson for any reason, generally the lesson must be paid as the teacher has reserved this time for this student.
On occasion an instructor will cancel a lesson. The instructor will make arrangements for a make-up lesson OR they will authorize a credit to be issued to the student’s account for the missed lesson. This may take up to six weeks to process. Once issued, the credit can be used against the following month’s tuition payment. Problems can and do arise when students anticipate credits or pay short based on missing lessons. Until proper authorization is received from the instructor, credits cannot be used for tuition payments. >>Back to Registration |
